Real-World Experience

At AMA-YCP, we emphasize experiential learning to prepare students for real-world challenges. Our initiatives benefit students across disciplines by providing practical experiences that bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional application.

Highlights include

Cultural Alliance Marketing Plan:

Students had the opportunity to collaborate with peers and local professionals to develop a marketing plan for York’s St. Patrick’s Day event. This project provided hands-on experience in analyzing key audience behaviors, identifying effective marketing channels, and brainstorming innovative strategies. For example, students explored questions like: "What draws people from 50+ miles to attend the parade?" and "What media mix would best reach diverse audiences?" Additionally, they proposed gamification ideas to engage attendees, such as interactive games on the event's website to drive traffic and capture valuable data. Discussions also included influencer campaigns, branding improvements, and website optimizations to enhance the event's appeal and accessibility.. Participants gained practical marketing skills through this real-world project, adding valuable work to their portfolios.

Additionally, this initiative offered students a chance to connect with industry professionals and other driven individuals, showcasing their creative ideas and shaping a significant community event. Opportunities like this allow students to apply their creativity, learn essential skills in event and tourism marketing, and make a tangible impact in York County.

These hands-on experiences provide tangible, resume-ready accomplishments for students pursuing careers in diverse industries. Looking ahead, AMA-YCP is committed to planning many more diverse events, ensuring opportunities for all students to gain practical skills and make meaningful contributions to their professional and personal growth.
