The American Marketing Association (AMA) at York College of Pennsylvania is a student-led organization dedicated to empowering students to excel in their professional and personal journeys. Our mission is to provide students with the tools, experiences, and connections they need to transition from college life to professional success. We aim to equip every York College student with the skills to market themselves effectively in today’s competitive world through career and professional development activities, including networking, mentorship, and educational programs in partnership with local businesses and the AMA Central Pennsylvania Chapter.

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is structured into different tiers that connect marketing professionals, educators, and students worldwide. This tiered system ensures that members can engage with marketing knowledge, industry connections, and career growth opportunities at every level—global, national, regional, and collegiate

Global Level (AMA Global)

AMA Global is the worldwide authority in marketing, providing industry insights, research, certifications, and thought leadership. It publishes academic journals, marketing reports, and hosts international events to foster innovation and global collaboration.

National Level (AMA National)

AMA National serves as the main hub for U.S. members, offering exclusive benefits such as webinars, networking, and professional development. It hosts major events like the AMA International Collegiate Conference and provides resources like the AMA Marketer’s Toolkit.

Regional & Professional Chapters (AMA Central PA)

Regional chapters, such as AMA Central PA—the fastest-growing AMA chapter—support marketing professionals through career workshops, networking, and mentorship. These chapters also collaborate with collegiate chapters to help students transition into the industry.

Collegiate Chapters (AMA York College of PA)

Collegiate chapters, like AMA York College of PA, prepare students for marketing careers through leadership opportunities, hands-on projects, and industry exposure. They provide a direct path to professional AMA membership after graduation.

Student Membership Level

Collegiate members gain access to local, regional, and national AMA resources. A key benefit of joining AMA Central PA is a free one-year professional membership upon graduation, offering continued networking and career growth opportunities.
